I would like you all to met Pearl. She is a new team member in the Library and Pearl loves nothing more than sitting back with a big block of chocolate and glass of wine.

Recipe

This is a recipe that I haven't made in sometime, but it was always gobbled up when I made it. I use milk chocolate in this recipe but you can always experiment with dark or white chocolate.

Craisin Fudge

1 tin of condensed milk
500g of cooking chocolate
125g Pecans roughly chopped
1 pkt Ocean Spray Craisins

Stir together chocolate and condensed milk in a double saucepan until mixture is melted and smooth. Remove chocolate from heat and add pecans and craisins. Pour into a lined cake tin or baking tray. Freeze until hard, thin slice into squares.

To make slicing easier warm knife with hot water.

Shops and Cafes

"Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... chocolate...." - Homer Simpson

Did you know that the average Australian consumes about 7.5 kilograms of chocolate a year. Chocolate also has many health benefits, among them is this wonderful chemical that relieves stress and tension. My husband loves chocolate and I enjoy it myself so when we travel he often checks to see if there is a chocolate shop in the area. So I thought I would share some of the shops and cafe we have visited. If you ever visit Tassie, just out of Devonport on the way to Launceston is D'Anvers. Where you can have a lovely meal with a hot chocolate and then browse through their shop of fudges and chocolates, my favourite - chocolate orange slices. In Geelong, when we have time we visited the Chocolate Room and Hahndorf's Fine Chocolates. My husband always finds time to visit Haigh's Chocolates, and recently we were treated to a Chocolate Afternoon Tea at the Windsor Hotel. I am sure we have visited many more and I'm sure there is more out there. Enjoy your chocolate.
